About

One storyteller, many worlds.

Thomas McFadden is a storyteller who refuses to stay in one medium. What ties his work together isn't a genre, it's the belief that a story earns its keep by what it does, not by how much it spends to look impressive.

He started as a poet. Caught Between, written during his years at Clemson and published in 2018, is a collection about faith, doubt, and the space between them. Around the same time he discovered filmmaking, and the two pursuits have chased each other ever since — a $125 short built for Campus Movie Fest went on to win a national Golden Tripod for Best Production Design, proof that resourcefulness could out-punch budget.

From 2020 on he leaned into film, writing, directing, and producing shorts like On the Eve of Destruction and Devenger Gang, then widened into screenwriting and, eventually, long-form fiction with his debut novel Around, a horror story that has since grown into its own video game. In 2026 he returns to verse with Manners, even as he circles back to where the fire started: filmmaking, with Pyromania now in the works.

Poet, screenwriter, novelist, director. Different rooms. One house. Welcome to it.
